Privacy Policy

We need enough data to make Whim useful, not to build a surveillance toy.

This policy explains what we collect for the Whim beta, how we use it, and how to reach us if you want help or have questions.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to the public beta signup form at whimlife.com and to the Whim mobile beta app.

What we collect

  • Beta signup details such as your email address, name, city, platform interest, and any notes you choose to share.
  • Account and authentication identifiers needed to let you create an account and sign in.
  • Location information you provide directly or allow from your device so we can show nearby events.
  • Onboarding preferences, interaction signals, saved events, and other app activity needed to improve recommendations.
  • Operational diagnostics such as crash reports, error traces, and request telemetry needed to keep the beta working.

How we use the data

  • To contact you about beta access, testing updates, and support responses.
  • To run the Whim product, including local discovery, personalization, and basic account management.
  • To troubleshoot bugs, prevent abuse, and improve quality during the beta.
  • To measure whether the app is actually useful, fast, and trustworthy for real users.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not treat beta signup data as permission to spam you outside Whim-related communication.
  • We do not intentionally publish your location, saved events, or private feedback.
